Helping students to excel

Established more than 30 years ago under the leadership and guidance of the Marist Brothers and Good Samaritan Sisters, Bede Polding College is a comprehensive, co-educational Catholic school.

Bede Polding is built with a strong sense of community and commitment to the wellbeing of students and staff.

"Our College strives to develop leaders of the future who are dynamic, creative and ethical," College Principal Mark Compton said.

Students develop maturity through a diverse range of community, sporting and cultural activities.

They can engage with the sciences, public speaking, environmental care, social justice and the arts through special interest groups and initiatives run at the College.

The Duke of Edinburgh program is a popular choice, with a number of students completing their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

Social action is an integral part of College life as staff and students are challenged to live out the College motto "called to bring peace".

Students engage in classroom learning, almsgiving and have the opportunity to contribute to their local community through local volunteer programs.

With an enrolment of approximately 1200 students, Bede Polding College is an engaging school.

"Student leadership has a significant part to play in developing the positive spirit and culture present in our community," he said.

"The College is proud of the role that our leaders play in both the College and wider community as they lead in education, life and faith."

Bede Polding senior students appreciate many aspects of the life at the college and when asked what they like best about being a student at the school replies included: the relationships with teachers, the learning environment and facilities at the school, and the dedication of teachers which makes students feel comfortable at school.
